Choosing a wedding venue is a crucial part of the wedding planning process. It not only takes a significant chunk of the wedding budget but is also a key part of the big day so needs to be perfect. These days you come across many wedding venue ideas, some are traditional, others more modern and others just down right unusual. Whichever style you prefer, when visiting prospective locations, take some time to consider your wedding photography in each place. The photographs are after all the only tangible reminder of your big day and you want them to be as stunning as possible.
Once you have decided upon the venue, have a chat with your photographer to let them know exactly what you expect from your wedding album. Whilst the bride and groom will be the most important part of the photos, the photographer will also try and capture the essence and style of the venue in the background. Achieving the right balance is not easy but an experienced photographer will be able to pull it off.
Your wedding venue will provide the setting for your photographs. You may even have two venues, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. This will allow for a change of tone between the photos and offers the photographer more options for his background. Church locations are packed full of great architecture which is perfect for stunning photography. Reception venues can be trickier for impressive backdrops. Internal photos are challenging, so if possible choose a venue with a beautiful garden or other outside area. If you can, take your photographer to your desired venue before you book it to confirm its suitability.
Whatever venue you end up choosing, an experienced bridal photographer should be able to pick up on some sort of natural beauty. This skill is what makes the difference between a day that lives on through your photographs and one that does not.
