Tamerica Binder Machine Review: The TCC-SP410 Spiral Binding Machine

With the help of a binder machine, important documents can have an exquisite, professional finish and even the lengthiest, book-length documents can be organized with ease.  One spiral binding machine we recommend checking out is the Tamerica TCC-SP410, and we have reviewed it and assessed both its strengths and weaknesses.  And we’re proud to say that this machine has mostly strengths to its name.

With the ability to punch about 5,000 sheets per hour and bind up to 250 books per hour, the TCC-SP410 is well above industry average when it comes to punching capacity and binding speed.  But that’s not the best part about this binder machine.  The TCC-SP410 handles up to 14-inch binding and punching width and features disengageable dies, two features sorely lacking in most of its competitors.  At around $450 at most locations, this is also a very affordable spiral binding machine.  This machine supports most coil sizes, including coils up to 1.4 inches across, and can bind up to 400 pages, which is pretty impressive.  And like most Tamerica models, it is purely constructed of metal for high durability, with a solid two-year warranty.

There aren’t many drawbacks to the Tamerica TCC-SP410.  One is its being a manual device, and another, more pressing one is the lack of coil crimpers.  Coil crimpers are supposed to be standard on a binder machine, but for this model, they aren’t.   One will have to shell out an extra $50 or so for this much-needed feature.

Still, spending about $500, crimpers included, the TCC-SP410 is still ahead of the spiral binding machine competition.  We are especially impressed with the versatility and number of coil sizes supported, and while other machines can bind more than 400 pages, the TCC-SP410′s 400-page maximum isn’t bad at all for its price range.  We strongly recommend this for medium-sized businesses or even smaller ones.
